Week 4:My new pet

My New Pet

My new pet is a praying mantis and his name is Manti. I was watching a movie on my computer when my mum called me from out the front when she was gardening. She said that she was cutting down thorns and she found a bug and she didn't want to cut it down. Mum knows that I like bugs and she didn't want to touch it. She asked what it was and I told her it was a praying mantis. Then I picked it up and ran inside, got a special shoe box and put manti in it. Then I went of my movie and did lots of research on how to look after praying mantis's. To make a long story short, I looked up how to make a home, how to look after a praying mantis, and how to tell it's gender. I needed to tell Manti's gender because I wanted to to call Manti he or her and I also wanted to know if I could let Manti have baby's. I needed to know if Manti could have baby's because when praying mantis's mate, the female praying mantis bites of the male mantis' head half way through mating and then when they are finished the male mantis dies.Manti is a male and if I let Manti mate, he will die.
I have had Manti for longer than two weeks now and he has learnt to listen to me. I trust him.
Manti is safe in his box and he can't get out.
We have a great relationship.

PE

You have now been to three different PE sessions- RUN, JUMP and THROW.

Please create something to show what you learned in EACH session.
It is your choice how to show and present this.

#Run
Mrs Love
For run we had to race other people and each time it got further.First we had a partner. Then we had to race all the people the same gender and year.I was with the year 4 girls. Then, for the really fast people, they got to run across the whole paddock.Even though I wasn’t fast I still did it for fun.I did it for a challenge.
#Jump
Mr M
For jump we had to do lots of different jumps. We jumped different jumps on lines and jumped with 2 other different learning buddies. We would form a circle. We played a game of “this is the way that Jenny (or) Jimmy jumps.”Jenny for girl,Jimmy for boy.Since i’m a girl I was Jenny.I had to say,”this is the way that Jenny jumps.” Then I would do a type of jump. Then the group would copy me and say,”this is the way that Jenny jumps.”Then they would jump how I jumped. Then I would say “Jenny nominates…”Then the next person would repeat.
#Throw
Miss Plimmer
For throw we had to throw balls to your partner. Each time you threw it to then 5 times without dropping it the partner on the flat side would move back 1.If you dropped it the partner on the flat side would go all the way back from where they started.Next you had to see how far you could throw. You wold be put in a group 1-3.Then you would have a new partner to throw it to.

For P.E we have been doing activities for RUN, JUMP, THROW.For each one we did a different activities.

What goes through their mind when they stand on the podium? Because I DO wonder what goes through there mind when they stand on the podium. (Probably REALLY excited.) But how would I know? I'm not them.

As I turn around I see the most amazing thing. It’s so magical. So colorful - it looks like a rainbow. It’s outstanding. I've never seen anything like it .I’ve only seen monarch butterflies before. So delicate. It could almost blend in with the flower it’s on. It’s like being on a colorful island. It’s the most amazing scene. The  rainbow butterfly clutching onto the flower is such a beautiful sight. It has the most magnificent colors. In the back of the scene there is green grass in a blurry distance. A sunny, peaceful, relaxing space. Could this get more colorful? It looks like a rainbow. Well blended. Red,orange, yellow, green, light blue, dark blue, purple, pink, fuchsia,
lavender. It's so precious.

In my learning,we have been doing scene description. We got to pick any image within reason.I chose a butterfly.Next we had to describe the image to the reader.
